So. This prompt does what it says on the tin: high school marching band AU, no magic.
I want this for two reasons: 1) to see what everyone plays and 2) so Harry and Marcone can grope each other on the band bus/ have ridiculously homoerotic rivalry. (Maybe it's like Drumline, and Harry is the prodigy who can't read sheet music while Marcone is the hardass, plays-by-the-rules section leader.)
Alternately, you don't have to do any pairings. Just run with it, anons. The more hardcore band-geeky details you throw in, the more I will fawn over you.

It's a game they play, right? (And fandom plays, heh.) Marcone pulls Harry's first name out; Harry bristles and rebutts him. But maybe he doth protest too much, as the saying goes. Maybe he really, really likes it.
I would love a story with most of the trappings of canon, except Harry is gay and out and very proud.* And John Marcone is, oh wait, a mob guy, who is either so deep in the closet he’s in Narnia, or in massive denial (he might have vague thoughts about men sometimes, but that’s not practical, no purpose, put it away, Johnny), or either way seriously threatened by Harry’s sexuality. Mix well, shake vigorously.

I'd like a story about Malcolm Dresden. Why does he decide to be an illusionist? Why did he decide to name Harry after three of them? How did he meet Maggie? How did he woo her away from Lord Raith?

Harry finally figures out how to make Marcone have a wizard lifespan so he won't have to watch his lover die, and it actually works. Then Harry is killed.
Harry's a Jedi Knight. He is send to some planet following reports about violent gang wars. Some Dark Jedies are involved. When he arrives, the situation's more or less resolved. A new Crime Lord has risen to power (Marcone). Unfortunately for Harry, Marcone wouldn't mind having someone with Jedi talents on his side.
I'm leaving the (evil) plotting to you, anon. ;) Do they fight Dark Jedies together? Or did Marcone already got rid of all of them and is looking for a more reliable replacement? Will he sway Harry to his will and get him more or less on the dark side of things? How? Blackmail? Seduction? Long-winded explanations? ;p

Anyone familiar with David Lewis? If not, bear with me here.
Lewis argued that academic knowledge, no matter how thorough, is separate and distinct from experiential knowledge. His example, 'Mary,' knows every fact about the color red that can be communicated through words, but has never actually seen the color red.
Lewis defined the visual knowledge of red as a physical/mental ability that cannot be transmitted by purely information. He went on to say that although Mary knows everything about red, you cannot actually say she knows what red is until she sees it with her own eyes (or so I understand from my very, very old philosophy notes).
tl;dr: Thoughts on Ivy! Her abilities/limitations, the knowledge she possesses v. her lack of personal experience, how what she is affects her day-to-day life as a growing girl. With plot, preferably.

(The character Vlad Taltos can use magic, but just about everyone in the world is better at quick battle magic than he is, so he goes for physical weapons).
Your choice how to apply this. One of the White Council wizards taken down by ordinary weapons (maybe by Marcone, that would be fun!) Morgan forced to cope with a paranoid Harry who has a gun during the period when he's stalking him. Murphy going after some asshole of a wizard as she gradually learns more about the White Council.

If you pull out Dustfinger, I will love you FOREVER. Maybe Harry meets Dustfinger and is secretly or obviously jealous of Dustfinger's control over fire. ("Why doesn't he ever set buildings on fire? That's so not fair.")
Or the person who read things chooses another book and crazy or serious antics ensue, depending on the book of choice.
2) Mo or Meggie (or OC) reads Dresden files. Harry finds himself in magicless world? Marcone appears in a Chicago where he's not the Mafia Highlord ... and proceeds to go about changing that now.
