1) Someone in Dresdenverse can read things out of books. They read Inkheart. Harry vs. The Shadow, anyone? Or Marcone meets Capricorn and totally PWNS all over him. If you pull out Dustfinger, I will love you FOREVER. Maybe Harry meets Dustfinger and is secretly or obviously jealous of Dustfinger's control over fire. ("Why doesn't he ever set buildings on fire? That's so not fair.") Or the person who read things chooses another book and crazy or serious antics ensue, depending on the book of choice.
2) Mo or Meggie (or OC) reads Dresden files. Harry finds himself in magicless world? Marcone appears in a Chicago where he's not the Mafia Highlord ... and proceeds to go about changing that now. (Or, alternately, takes advantages of having no responsibilities and settles down to a nice quiet life with Magicless!Harry. If you wanted to get serious with that, you could end up having them trying the quiet life for a while but hating it, or feeling bad that they've left their world in danger and want to find a way back.) If you think you can manage it, you could try writing Dresden-character meeting Jim Butcher.
