Harry impresses either a gold or green dragon. (OP would prefer gold, but will glee over green as well.)

Right before Harry's dragon's first mating flight someone sits him down and explains the whole tentpeg problem.

Bonus points if Harry sets something on fire afterwards.

I can't imagine how Harry can imprint the gold dragon. He's too obviously male to be left face to face with the hatchling...

They all hatch in the same arena. If she refuses all the girls and staggers over to the boys there's nothing anyone can do about it.

In my head, he's standing with the male candidates, but the young queen gets stroppy and knocks over one of the girls, so his chivalry switch triggers and he runs over to help, and then -- history is made!
