Harry is a very powerful wizard, but he lacks control. He leaks power all over the place, and because of this, people around him have acquired powers of their own. Additionally, the power they're leeching off from Harry has extended their lifetimes.
What will those powers be? Now that Murphy will be around for the next 100 years to kick Harry for being a chauvinist, will he ever change? Will Harry and John ever stop bantering and start fucking, given an extra decade or two? Or will they do both at the same time? Will Hendricks apply philosophy to his own powers? Will Kincaid get powers totally not appropriate for the Hellhound (like growing flowers or something)? Explore the possibilities, anon.
it would be really interesting to see physical manifestations of powers in dresden files characters though. that's always been one of the things i liked about how bleach started -- their powers -- chad and orihime reflect their personalities so well.
(i would give murphy something similar to chad, maybe? some way where her power was this physical marker of how badass she actually is -- something that probably gets lost amongst all the men on the police force and being five foot nothing. which is not to say murphy *needs* it to show how awesome she is, but that it just happens regardless of her feelings on the subject because of course, powers relating to harry would never manifest in the way you want, that would be too logical for harry)
I agree. Although it follows the typical five man band formation, the characters' powers fit with their backgrounds and histories.
Yeah, that would work. Murphy is always being underestimated because of her size, but on her own she is strong, not only with her convictions but also physically.
It might not even work out that way, because Harry's powers are as messed up as he is.
