OM NOM NOM.

But this is also fascinating, not just hot. Thinking about how different Dresden's weird power mixed with self-loathing issues would manifest if he were born female.

Ebenezar and Thomas are introduced to one another, preferably by Harry. Either as family or as allies, because any way's fun!

oh noes it's going to be long what ever shall we all do? *grin*

(Also I just typed "grin" as "groin". Go Freudian keyboard.)

I love that Executive Priority has glossy brochures. Of COURSE it does. Oh, John.

Also I love the delving into John's head here.

thank you so much, those were both awesome!

You know, I feel like if Harry were POC he'd have much better control of his anger management issues. Because otherwise he'd be dead. :(

Also, I wonder how he then would have reacted to Ebenezar's damn "Injun Joe" shtick with Listens-to-Wind.

WTH BRAIN!

It's saying to me...Harry could be the orphan (Robin!) that Marcone takes in.

Talk about strange places.

Nono, Amanda Beckitt should be Robin!

Not necessarily, plenty of people have mixed backgrounds and look completely different from their grandparents, especially if they live in multicultural societies.

Kincaid and Butters

(Anonymous) 2011-02-19 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Murphy had no idea that having Kincaid get to know Butters would lead to this...

(Whatever your heart wants anon~)

Is the magic really that different between the two series? 'cause far as I remember they both have to say something to use spells.

Re: Parental Marcone/Dresden, HP Xover

(Anonymous) 2011-02-19 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you could certainly, interestingly, argue that the guiding rules behind how (mortal) magic works in The Dresden Files works is unarticulated but parallel to the wizarding world magic in Harry Potter, but just saying "they both have to say something to use spells" is a huge simplification (and more-than-technically incorrect).

I need this...

(I might try to fill it later, because it so deserves to be filled, but I don't know that I'll have time. Sorry.)

True, I don't remember much of Harry Potter Magic, cause I only read the first book so very long ago.

(Although, now I think about it, I don't think Harry Potter Series magic is a walking tech-bane like Dresden Series is.)

*notes to self, look up how magic in Harry Potter works when trying to do a mini!fill for this prompt*

(Anonymous) 2011-02-19 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually isn't there a crack theory floating around that Martha Liberty could've been Harry's grandmother? It's not outside the realm of possibility that he already is mixed-race. (Which doesn't mean he's necessarily a POC, since he's never identified that way, but it might be interesting to see him deal with finding out that he is.)

(Anonymous) 2011-02-19 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, damn, I am now visualizing Marcone as the pastor of a Black church, which he rules with an avuncular demeanor but an iron fist, with a finger in every pie, charisma in spades, and detailed knowledge of everything that is happening in all of his parishioners' lives and neighborhoods, like most of the urban black pastors I know...
