Why am I seeing Thomas as the theater-trained son of a Hollywood legacy family in this verse? He just wants to do theater and finance his girlfriend's productions, but he's contracted to Daddy's studio.

Harry writes straight shows and and Marcone produces Disney-esque musicals. Harry is all "you are murdering American theater!" and Marcone is all "I employ more actors per show than you have in your entire career. You may get them Tonys, but I am how chorus girls in this town pay the rent."
I can't decide whether I want Murphy to be a director or stage-manager. Probably stage manager; she keeps actors in line.
