There could be an absolutely fascinating dynamic pretty much no matter who you cast where. I'm kind of imagining Harry as Mal and Marcone as Inara and it's quickly becoming hilarious. But Marcone as the fastidious Simon makes a lot of sense. But Michael and Charity would be adorable for Zoe and Wash, except depending on which was which, you might lose something of the dynamic or their personalities. Hm.

I was thinking more of the insane overprotectiveness of a younger girl he has a pseudo-fatherly relationship with and that one episode of being a criminal mastermind, as for Michael and Charity...yes, that is exactly what I would like. I wouldn't say no to seeing this whoever you cast where, but Dresden/Marcone is essential...they're kinda my OTP.

I actually think that Harry could make a nice Inara- I know, the character dynamics would change completely, and if we were matching personalities Harry would be Mal... but there's an odd appeal to the idea, because he'd be such an amusing Companion.

His opposition to Marcone's criminal side would be pretty well in tact, though - and sometimes he does fuss like Inara. But he'd be better dressed than Marcone, which is odd to think about.

Third person jumping in here. I think Harry as Kayley and Marcone as Simon would be hilariously ironic and fabulous. And you know what? If Harry is Kayley, Murphy is Mal. Which is just perfect on so many levels.
