pssh. Michael's more than just one personality trait. ;)
I admit, it took me a while to warm up to him in Grave Peril-- God God God *Bucket of Catholic Stereotypes*-- wasn't exactly engaging, but once he gets a little more airtime, he's got as many layers as the other characters. He's really funny sometimes-- dry and sneaky, for sure, but he totally plays to his image. It's often quoted, but favourite of his is probably the most obvious:(paraphrase) 'My faith protects me. My Kevlar helps.' He has a nastier side too-- he eventually gets into it after Harry beats up Cassius with the baseball bat in Death Masks, and iirc, pounds the steering wheel he's laughing so hard at the phonecalls being more than a quarter-thing. Plus there's his rage-- we get a full introduction to that in The Warrior, and his fears. So. Yeah. Not just righteous faith-will-move-mountains Michael. But salt and pepper, bearded, handsome, good man with some sneakier, darker-sides Michael.
