Pardon, it should be death/violence done to one of her people...

Well... You make a good point as well. But in Storm Front, Marcone was acting nice with Harry b/c he needs him to either stay out of the case or work for him. He didn't quite believe Harry to be who he claimed to be. Afterwards, he dropped playing friendly to eventually become, help each other out to help Chicago!Marcone.

Maybe not using seduction against Harry, but being the friendly agreeable person that is very logically and nicely, telling him to stay away from the case. Except Harry's not logical at all and sticks to his morals. But if she tricks Harry into a soulgaze, isn't that really how all the Marcone/Dresden relationship really starts out then? Marcone seeing something in Harry that makes her respect and maybe fear him a little while Harry now knows that Marcone isn't someone you ever want to let your guard down, but she's a fierce protector of what's hers.

I suppose if it ends up as a Marcone/Dresden relationship, he'll have to be wary of her or else, there would be too much power of Marcone's side of the relationship if Harry keeps tripping himself over her. ...Maybe like Harry's relationship with Lara?

If it's a Marcone/Hendricks one, I'm not sure how she'll treat Harry, but maybe it's more of a motherly/friendly relationship where she keeps trying to feed him?

Hm... I'm not sure where in the books that show where they really start to trust each other. Maybe Death Masks?

Strange...I wasn't really thinking about them starting a relationship so early either, but more of how are they going to interact with each other.

In the end, I guess it all depends on the writer. There's too many variables and too many alternate possiblities for us to really decide on what should be.

...I'm a little giddy since this is my first discussion. :D

Hi!
I'm sorry for not answering before, but apparently every e-mail I (should have) received from Dreamwidth ended up in my spam folder... But, anyway I think I recovered everything ^_^
But yes, I think if my prompt is filled, we may have material for future discussions, but right now? We are only speculating ^^
And this is also my first discussion ever, as I am normally a lurker ^_^
And I really am sorry about taking so long to answer you, to tell the truth, I think I spent 1 hour checking my e-mail to see if you had answered ^^

I wasn't thinking on a relationship so early on (perhaps I should have added it on my prompt?) as I don't think it could work for exactly the same reasons as you say...
And while the association between Marcone/Harry starts there, most of the fics I have read don't take place until Harry at least trusts Marcone a little, for these same reasons, and a huge stumbling block is always how much they trust each other.

It can work, but normally, Marcone has to even the field for Harry to not feel threatened. Would it work with Marcone as a woman ina male dominated position, and as so less inclined to leave herself vulnerable to attacks? I don't know.

If it was Marcone/Hendricks their relationship would probably be a friendly one, tough Marcone would probably not like to hear Hendricks described as "Cujo".
Mothering? I don't know, perhaps after she sees how harry lives and justifies her care and gifts as a way to keep Chicago safe?
