Harry runs into trouble with the law that Murphy can't get him out of, and he actually gets convicted and sent to jail. Let's say he decides to wait it out instead of escaping, because a few months in prison is preferable to leaving Chicago forever.

Marcone finds out and orders all of his underlings who are incarcerated in the same jail to protect him (including smuggling in the things he needs to stay safe against supernatural forces.) And possibly uses his influence, or just his access to better lawyers, to get Harry out early.
